Palm Island is a small barrier island located off the southern Gulf Coast of Florida. You will find it 30 minutes South of Sarasota and one hour North of Ft. Myers. Separated from Cape Haze by the Intracoastal Waterway, Palm Island offers magnificent views of the Gulf of Mexico, Lemon Bay and Stump Pass. Limited access to the island (via Palm Island Ferry or boat) creates a level of privacy and exclusivity not offered by some of the more easily accessible barrier islands. Because of this, the beautiful beaches are quiet and scarcely populated all year.

The home prices on Palm Island range from low 300s for two bedroom condominiums, to well over $1,000,000 for larger single family homes with beach frontage. However, most home shoppers will find Palm Island to be a bargain comparatively, if you don't mind being limited by the Ferry for vehicle access. Many residents of Palm Island travel back and forth by their own personal small boat and park their vehicles at one of the many marinas located directly across from the island.
